The Nexis interceptor drone, developed by Ukrainian company WinFly, achieved its first combat kill by destroying a Russian Shahed-136 drone.

The interception took place at high speed, above 250 km/h, with confirmation of total destruction of the target while still in the air, marking an advance in defense against aerial threats.

The system emerges as a natural evolution of the company’s previous technologies, which had already been used against drones such as Lancet and Molniya. According to the manufacturer, the adaptation to face faster targets was expected and was achieved after about one year of development, with a completely original design.

Among the Nexis’ main advantages is its flight endurance, which can reach up to 25 minutes, as well as a relatively low cost, estimated at around US$ 1,287 in the basic version. Currently operated manually, the drone is already being prepared to operate autonomously, with integration into radars and detection systems under development.

Capable of reaching speeds of up to 270 km/h and operating at altitudes of up to 5,000 meters, Nexis was designed for rapid response, becoming ready for use in about three minutes. With both day and night operation, the system also includes a ground control station, establishing itself as an agile and scalable solution on the battlefield.
